BIO //
Jim is a composer and orchestrator, and one half of musical theatre writing duo Buchan & Barne
Since reading Music at King’s College London and studying Voice at the Royal Academy of Music, he has written music for many different mediums including film, radio, theatre & pop
He was the winner of the London Chamber Orchestra's Young Composer competition, and alongside his collaborator Kit Buchan was the recipient of the 2020 Stage Debut Award for Best Composer/Lyricist and the 2018 Stiles & Drewe Mentorship Award
Jim has studied composition under British composer of the year Graham Fitkin and Emmy Award-winning composer Hummie Mann. He is a member of BML and Mercury Musical Developments
